I redesigned the cover of the classic novel "The Catcher in the Rye" with a more modern look you would see in the teen fiction section of the book store. I chose a light purple to give a soft feel in contrast to the orange color of the original. I took inspiration from one of the biggest scenes in the book which was when Holden describes how he feels like he is in a rye field full of children who are too short to see over the rye. He is there to watch them to make sure they do not run and fall off of the cliff. This scene represents the overall theme of the book-protecting a child's innocence which is why I wanted it to be a part of the cover design. The cover is meant to give the viewer the feeling like they are Holden and are standing in the rye field. I chose a font that complimented the whispiness and raw feeling of the rye.

Dusty Van Design is a fictional company that guts vans and rebuilds the interior to become a nice comfortable living space. The inspiration behind this brand consisted of a combination of things that I love. I really enjoy interior design and the hippie culture. This inspired a Van Rebuild company. The biggest inspiration behind the design was my favorite story Alice In Wonderland. I began by really looking into the flowers that are in Wonderland. I did some research and used the species from the story. You can also see that mushrooms, a playing card, and tea cups were also design elements I included to fit this theme. The logo can be tied to this idea as well. However in addition to fitting the theme, the rabbit logo and company name "Dusty's" was inspired by my pet rabbit named Dusty. The feel for the brand is very natural and rustic. I wanted it to feel free but also still professional and clean.

I wanted to incorporate the flames into the letterhead as a signature design at the bottom while not compromising readability. For the business card, I wanted the back and front to be cohesive by adding the brush stroke feature from the logo onto the back. I of course adhered to their branding guidelines throughout the design, such as their color pallet, and font.
